There are many mysterious creatures on earth. Some do not sleep for years and some never die. But there is also a creature which takes sleep naps not just 2-4 times but 10,000 times a day. This may sound impossible to you. But this is absolutely true. Recently when the scientist revealed this fact, everyone was shocked. The name of this creature is Chinstrap Penguins, which is a species of penguin found in Antarctica.
When scientists were doing research on birds living on King George Island in Antarctica, they discovered this unique thing. According to The Guardian report, chinstrap penguins are the only birds on earth that sleep 10,000 times a day. This is because one of their naps lasts only 4 seconds. Experts found that when their neck is moving, they are taking a nap. They have this habit because they feel their nest, eggs and children are in danger all the time. Therefore, as soon as they go to sleep, they open their eyes again and again and keep an eye on their eggs and babies.
Habit of sleeping continuously for 11 hours
Scientists found that chinstrap penguins nap for up to 11 hours a day. Research was done on these even in the 1980s. Then it was only known that penguins sleep for short periods of time. So can humans do this? Researcher Paul-Antoine Libourel of Lyon Neuroscience Research Center said, it is not possible for humans to do this. Because our structure is completely different from these birds. Our sleep pattern is also quite different. Therefore, it may not be possible for humans to get so much sleep.

Capable of diving down to 70 meters
Black and white chinstrap penguins live in the Southern Hemisphere. They have flippers like wings, but they cannot fly. Being aquatic creatures, these flippers help them in swimming. They have a thin black stripe below their head, due to which they were named chinstrap. You will be surprised to know that they can dive down to 70 meters in search of food. They are so fast that they can go 10 meters deep and grab food in half a minute. Usually they like to dive at night. They lay eggs in late November, which hatch in early January. The babies come out in less than 2 months.
